MoU to enable information sharing
THE memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed by the Swaziland Investment Promotion Authority (SIPA) and the Federation of Swaziland Employers and Chamber of Commerce (FSE&CC) will enable information sharing between the two organisations so that they easily deal with issues of common interest.
SIPA CEO Phiwayinkosi Ginindza said the two organisations worked together in various key aspects. He said as SIPA, they moved around the world luring investors into the country and once they were in the country, those investors worked directly with the FSE&CC.
He pointed to close cooperation between his organisation and the Trade and Commerce committee under FSE&CC and said, as a result, it made perfect sense that they signed the agreement to intensify their cooperation.
FSE&CC CEO Zodwa Mabuza pointed out that the agreement would also serve to give weight to decisions taken by the two organisations. She said there were a lot of areas in which her organisation cooperated with SIPA to promote trade and investment in the country.
“The work of both organisations tends to overlap in various aspects. It was important that we sign this agreement so that when we go out to lobby investors, we speak the same language,” she said. Adding, Mabuza said her organisation had been working together with SIPA over a long period of time and looked forward to continued collaboration between the two organisations.
