E200 000 budget for 2010 Glory Awards
Hosting the 2010 Glory Awards will seemingly be a costly affair. This is because the Association of Christian Artists in Swaziland (ACASWA) has predicted that they are mostly likely to run up a bill that amounts to E200 000 this year.
This was announced by the ACASWA President Mzwakhe Myeni.
The awards are scheduled for November 27 at Esibayeni Lodge’s Esangweni Bar in Matsapha.
Myeni said the figure quoted would be adequate to cover expenses associated with hosting the annual event which seeks to recognise the achievements of local gospel artists.
“The new ACASWA executive is coming with something different this year. What we have planned for that night is something only seen on TV,” he said excitedly.
Myeni anticipated that the money would cover the leasing of the venue, purchasing of trophies, the accommodation of international guests, meals and transport.
He justified his estimation by explaining that they had invited guests from SABC 1’s Gospel Gold, Gospel Time as well as crews from Ligwalagwala FM and Ukhozi FM.

According to Myeni, popular Generations actors and actresses would also grace the function.
However, he wasn’t in a position to identify them because he said their attendance was still subject to confirmation.
As opposed to last year, this time around, there will be a dinner and it is expected to be a red-carpet affair.
He went on to say the Glory Awards would be launched in two weeks time and therefore, Gospel artists should prepare themselves.
