Celebrating our remarkable women

The 9th August marks Women’s day; a special day set aside to honour the remarkable women who dwell among us.
From ancient times, the inner mystery of a woman has been her crowning glory that defines who she really is.
Expressions like ‘Behind every man there’s a woman’ weren’t meant to belittle women, but to show them just how far their influence can extend to.
Our mothers are our first encounter with love and care. The mother and child bond is an impeccable one as it is unique and engraved in their DNA.
Female teachers in the classroom become our second primary encounter with the nurturer; she picks up the tiny gifts and talents you posses and encourages you to use them and your eyes open up to see where your life’s destiny may lie.
You then grow up and begin to choose to surround yourself with sound women; we pick our friends, our lovers; who inspires us and what these people say to us edify who we are.
Think of the most powerful woman in the world right now, she found her inner mystery and destiny-her sphere of influence is so great that if she could say today, “From now on I’m no longer interested in wearing shoes; lets all walk bare footed everyday,” the entire shoe industry would experience an incredible recession the very next day. Now that’s power.
Headed in he right direction; Swaziland has recognised the importance of having female leaders and these women have done so much to shape our society and keep gender equality related arguments at bay in politics, business, the arts and the media.
We respect and acknowledge these women for their influence and expect them to carry the female voice and pave the way for our future female leaders.
Having said that, let’s  salute our extraordinary women in business like Nelisa Lawton of Legendary Events  for specialising in events management and hospitality, Ndo Mdlalose of Ndonyamanzi innovative consultancy for being a clinical psychologist and ensuring emotional wellness and consultancy for employees, stress management and trauma debriefing, Fikile C. Motsa of Swazi Archives for her achievements on onsite/offsite filing and archiving, Futhie Brightness Hlanze of Bright's Exclusive Deco Decorators who decorates for functions specialising in draping, flower arrangements, wedding cakes, catering, and renting out of deco materials, Crysanne Perez of Ngamela Investment who is a Global commodity trader for food, minerals and construction commodities trader, Gciniwe Fakudze for being Matsapha Town Clerk, Nelsiwe Shongwe for being minister of Information Communications and Technology. For breaking through glass ceilings and soaring high.
To all our phenomenal women in Swaziland, we honour you.
