NHLANGANO residents had a rare opportunity to sample at least one track from Kwephe 13’s latest album on Saturday during TechnoServe’s roadshow.
Kwepe, born Lucky Ndzimandze, was among the artists lined up during a show coordinated by Swazi Boy Entertainment meant to promote the Believe Begin Become business plan writing competition.
He performed one of the tracks from the album he is currently working on with the hope of releasing it in April.
The track ‘Ubusuku Nemini Ngikhandis’gubhu’ sent the crowd dancing and asking for more. Other songs he rendered were the likes of ‘Saka Kwepe Nabanganibakho’ and ‘Khula Kwepe’.
Other artists who performed during the show were Mbukiso Maseko and S’fiso Ndlangamandla aka Tyrapper who performed a collaboration track titled ‘my heart’.
In an interview with the duo after their performance, they invited other upcoming artists to join them so they could work together and give the nation good music.
They said working together for a common goal can really help them have an impact in the music industry and go places.
Asked about their collaboration, they said the whole idea was to help each other as they worked on releasing their different albums, but in the process they do some tracks together. “We are two different artists with a common vision so we decided to work together so that we can make our dreams of penetrating the music industry come true.
“We want to show the nation that local artists can make it big in the music industry. This will also expel that bad perception that local artists are not capable of making things happen,” said Mbukiso.
