ACTIVQUEST Company PTY Ltd has grown in leaps and bounds since its inception in 2007.
The company, which specialises in conducting research in a number of aspects, is based at  Ezulwini. Government, individual companies as well as non-governmental organisations (NGOs) are amongst clients Activquest has assisted in research work.
Director Sipho Kunene said the company had all the ideas to assist other people with skills in running their businesses. He said in particular, the youth should be encouraged to venture into business as they were the future of the country.
Addressing a gathering on Saturday during the Believe Begin Become roadshow, Kunene said he had no doubt that even those who would be participating in the competition would not regret as they stand to benefit in a number of ways.
He said he had established his company in 2007 and since then, he had not looked back. “We are specialists in market research as well as social research and it is such a challenging task. However, I can assure you that we always make it a point that whatever services you need, we do our best, very convincingly and accordingly.”
Kunene said starting a business needs someone very committed and encouraged young people all over the country to consider taking the risk. “We are here in the region today to share our experience, including how we managed to be where we are today. We are encouraging the youth not to hesitate, but join the competition,” said the company director. He said what was also interesting once one joined the competition was that even if they did not win anything, they were still given a chance to find out what exactly could have let them down.
“In this competition, you are not dumped after you have not made it, but you are encouraged to polish up your ideas. Your skills are sharpened such that you end up finding things rolling on their own,” said Kunene, adding “it is a matter of patience. One who has goals to achieve should have passion as well as patience. Have passion for the type of project or business you have in mind.”
He said other benefits of joining the competition included being afforded a chance to be a member of the BBB Alumni club.
Discrimination
“There is no discrimination whether you are a small business person or a giant. The ideas shared between small and big businesses are of great advantage and through this club, we network and it becomes easy to identify our mistakes and also how we can improve,” added Kunene.
The director said it was also necessary that anyone wishing to jump onto the ship must have confidence.
“There is no way one can succeed if they are afraid of taking the risk. Be a risk taker and never grow weak knees. Don’t be afraid to approach those who are ahead and take things one step at a time.”
During the roadshow, TechnoServe’s business advisors also took time to lecture the people of the south on all the requirements for those wishing to enter the competition. The next road show is to be held at Buhleni in the northern Hhohho this Saturday.
