Shalom Productions releases siSwati films
Shalom Productions will release two new siSwati films.
They are titled ‘Umhlaba Uyahlaba’ and ‘Sikhatsisini Lesi’.
The former is due for release at the end of this month.
This was revealed by Makhosonke Dlamini, who has the lead role of Deborah in the film.
“It is an interesting storyline which relays stories about all the immoralities that occur nowadays,” he said.
The film delves into the world of prostitution, corruption and other social ills.
Revealed
He further revealed that the film was in its entirety a siSwati film which Shalom Productions takes pride in because they feel there is a great need in the Swazi film industry to relay their own stories in their own language.
“Both the films are in Siswati, which shows how proud we are of our language,” he added.
Dlamini also expressed concern that local filmmakers tended to think shying away from vernacular made a film better but as a production team, they begged to differ.
He also revealed that he would be releasing a Kwaito album soon that is going to depict all the stories that are told in his films in song.
“My fans should look out for my Kwaito album, which I plan to release. It will be no different to the films except that the stories will be conveyed through song,” he said.
