Princess Tsandzile stranded in Johannesburg

DEPUTY Prime Minister Themba Masuku’s representative in the 8th African Regional Conference on Women Princess Tsandzile is alleged to have been left stranded at the OR Tambo International Airport on Saturday.
The princess accompanied by Principal Secretary in the DPM’s Office Khangeziwe Mabuza were scheduled for Banjul via Europe, but their flight was already fully booked.
The princess and PS, therefore, missed the official opening of the conference Monday morning at the Kairaba Beach Hotel Conference Centre.
It is was gathered that they had to leave Johannesburg on Sunday and this time going via Dakar, Senegal and were due to arrive in Banjul on Monday afternoon.
The minister was expected to join the country’s delegation comprising  Gender Issues Coordinator in the DPM’s Office Jane Mkhonta-Simelane, and some civil society including the media representatives, Gcebile Ndlovu, Cebile Manzini-Henwood and Lindelwa from Lutheran Development Services (LDS).
The conference which was attended by The Gambia Vice President and minister of Women’s Affairs Dr. Ajaratou Isatou-Njie Saidy will close on Friday.
Also expected to be at the conference are the African Union Commission Chairman Jean Ping, United Nations Under Secretary General and Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa Abdoulie Janneh and Malawi’s vice president.
