Former Senator goes into showbiz

Former senator Mike Temple has branched into the world of showbiz. Temple, who is well-known within business circles and for his role in local politics, is now actively involved in the entertainment industry.

Temple branched into the entertainment industry more than a year ago when he became Afro-Jazz musician Mbongseni Ngubane’s manager.
He was also recently listed among the members of House on Fire’s 2010 Bush Fire Organising Committee.
Speaking about his involvement in the entertainment industry, Temple said: “Basically my life is business. That’s besides politics of course!”
He subscribes to the notion that everything revolves around business.
“I could be involved in anything but at the end of the day; it all comes back to business.”
Explaining how he became Bholoja’s manager, Temple said: “I saw a need to assist someone with incredible potential so that he could concentrate on what he loves doing - making music.”
Temple stepped up as Bholoja’s manager when he accepted two Tihlabani awards on his behalf during the inaugural event held last month.
This was after Bholoja won awards under the Male Artist of the Year and Popular Artist of the Year categories.
Furthermore, Bholoja’s management team has far-reaching dreams for him and parts of those dreams include a 2010 promotional tour of his debut album.
The tour itinerary will include countries within the Southern region and East Africa.
On another note, no specific role has been given to Temple as part of the 2010 Bush Fire Organising Committee but he will be actively involved in the preparations for the annual event scheduled to take place on May 28 to May 30.
Jiggs Thorne confirmed that it would be Temple’s first time involved in the preparations.
