THERE’S NO TURNING BACK for E16BN Swaziland RAIL LINK

Both Swaziland Railway (SR) and Transnet Freight Rail believe that the Swaziland Rail Link Project has already reached a stage where there is no more turning back in as far as going all the way to complete it.
The commissioning of running trains is expected to be the first quarter of 2023, confirmed SR Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Stevenson Ngubane yesterday.
He said the actual construction of the railway line will commence in 2019. The cost of constructing the railway line alone is E16.6 billion, disclosed Transnet Group CEO Mlamuli Buthelezi when both SR and Transnet gave an update to the media about the project at the Royal Villas yesterday.
Buthelezi disclosed that the relocation of homesteads and exhumation of graves has and will come with additional costs to the project.
