David Simelane’s legal fees at over E0.5million

Six years after serial killer David Simelane was sentenced to death by hanging from his conviction of killing 28 women whereas he faced more charges, the taxpayer now has to foot the bill for his legal representation.
David Simelane was arrested in 2001 for the killing spree which occurred over an undetermined number of years and his court appearances spanned over a decade leading to his conviction in 2011.
He still languishes at the Matsapha Correctional Facility to date.
According to highly placed sources, two lawyers who represented Simelane as pro deo counsels have over the last two weeks handed their demands for payments with the Registrar of the Supreme Court Lungile Msimango who doubles as secretary of the Judicial Service Commission.
