New public transportation system on the cards

Stakeholders have been invited to a meeting which will determine whether the public service vehicle landscape will change.
The meeting was confirmed by Swaziland Local Transport - Manzini Branch Chairman Derrick Dlamini.
Speaking yesterday during an interview, Dlamini said they were not as yet sure of what the meeting called by the Road Transportation Board (RTB) was about as they did not want to pre-empt its agenda.
He only confirmed that there was a recently failed meeting which did not take off due to the absence of major stakeholders and the assumption was there had not been proper communication with them hence their absence. “We are going to a meeting on August 24,” he said while stating that they could not rely on rumours pertaining to the agenda.  He relented that they had heard something to the effect that there would be a shake up to the industry which has over the years resulted in accidents. On the other hand, the minister of public works and transport Pastor Lindiwe Dlamini stated that even though there were proposed changes, they were all at the consultative state.
