‘Sikhali’, Wonder boost for ‘Birds’

SOCCER - MBABANE Swallows have welcomed the duo of Sabelo ‘Sikhali’ Ndzinisa and Wonder ‘Samba-Jive’ Nhleko from injury ahead of the team’s crucial clash against Orapa United tomorrow.

The local giants will lock horns with the Mascom Top 8 champions in the return leg of the CAF Confederations cup preliminary round slated for Somhlolo National Stadium, kick off at 3:30pm.

The team’s top goal scorer didn’t feature for the red and white ensemble in their away first leg clash due to an ankle injury while Nhleko finished the game in pain.

The former Black Leopards veteran winger scored the team’s lone goal in their 1-0 victory at Francistown last week Saturday and even though he finished the game, he picked an ankle injury and was previously dubbed ‘doubtful’ for the clash.

Mbabane Swallows CEO Sibusiso Manana said they were banking on a late fitness test especially for Nhleko but later revealed that both players would be ready for the clash.

“Both players are now training with the rest of the team, it is entirely up to the coach to use them tomorrow,” he said.

It will be E40 to watch the  match.

The ‘Beautiful Birds’ will be looking to advance to the first round following their hard-fought 1-0 over the Botswana side last Saturday at the Francistown Sports Centre. The match promises to be a thrilling encounter as Orapa has also declared war on Swallows, with their coach Madinda Ndlovu making it known that the battle is still on. He said it would be the survival of the fittest.

Manana’s message to the Batswanas

Tse dintsi re tlaa di bua mo lebaleng!

We will do the talking in the field of play.

“We have traveled the continent and we boast vast experience in this competition and Orapa shouldn’t make the mistake of undermining us.

We have played multiple international teams at Somhlolo National Stadium and all of them can tell you that they didn’t make it out alive, it’s going to be the same aftermath with Orapa,” he said.

Manana warned Orapa against playing mind games since that would not work out for them.

“They have spoken quite a few times in the media but that won’t change the results on Saturday (tomorrow). We have prepared well for them,” he added.
