REDI, a management consultancy company has pledged a total of E10 000 to the most brilliant music business plan that will be submitted by any MTN SWAMA Awards nominee.

REDI, a management consultancy company has pledged a total of E10 000 to the most brilliant music business plan that will be submitted by any MTN SWAMA Awards nominee.

The nominees of the prestigious awards ceremony will be announced on June 3 and that is when hopefuls should start submitting business plans to the REDI offices, situated at Eveni in the capital city.

This was announced by REDI Director Dr Sikhomba Gumbi who said artists needed to conceptualise their talents into businesses in order to enjoy the fruits of their efforts.

sponsorship

Gumbi recalled that this sponsorship solely dedicated to the growth of the arts industry in the country was not the first he had supported since he was also part of the successful T55 talent search.

The T55 talent search saw a total of E55 000 and a car being won by a dance duo known as Tribal Misfits in 2015.

Judging and adjudication of the business plans to be submitted will be done by REDI. SWAMA President Lutfo Dlamini said it was only right for the company with vast expertise in management to pick the best plan. The winner of this aspect of the SWAMA Awards ceremony will then be assisted in how to make a successful and growing music business. Dlamini further thanked the sponsorship REDI was bringing to the table as he made it known that it was a necessity considering that not all artists make it, talent wise, but if they would develop those talents into businesses they would surely be rewarded by their own works.

Business minded award nominees are therefore encouraged to grab this opportunity provided by REDI as they only come once in while.

The president also urged artists to take opportunities, “do not fear to take a chance,” he said.

He then made an example of Sands, saying had the afro soul artist never taken the chance to go into the studio for the first time he would not be where he is today.

“As we are drawing closer to the nominations deadline, artists are urged to dare take the chance.

If you do not make it now then you will win next time,” he advised.

 sponsors

Swazi MTN Brand and Sponsorship Manager Fisiwe Vilane also appreciated the sponsorship from REDI and emphasised that it would surely go a long way in the winner’s musical career.

The MTN SWAMA Awards chairperson Melusi ‘Zox’ Dlamini, in the company of committee members members  Penny  Bouwer,  Larry Mhlanga and Mhlonishwa Motsa also walked the same path, encouraging award hopefuls to make use of the time left since the final nominees will be announced on June 3.

“Nomination window closes on April 30, nominees will be announced on June 3 and the actual ceremony will be on August 5 at the Royal Swazi Spa Convention centre,” he informed.

winner

This will be the very same day where the winner of the REDI sponsorship will be announced,
